Hosting Types

Shared Hosting

Shared Hosting is the most common hosting type and it’s what’s normally referred to when talking about web hosting in general.

Like the name implies, shared hosting is just a one server that has its resources shared between a group of users. The more users in the same server, the more the load on the server and the slower each user’s website becomes.

At wewebhost.com we are very generous with our shared hosting plans and we don’t oversell to make more profit at the expense of our clients experience.

VPS (Virtual Private Server)

VPS is the next level after shared hosting, it’s similar to shared hosting in being a part of a one server, but the difference is that the resources in a VPS are private and not shared, so despite being in the same physical machine, every VPS gets specific assigned resources that others can not use.

Dedicated Server

A dedicated server is the next level after VPS. Like the name implies, there is a one physical machine and you own all of its resources alone.

Cloud Hosting

The cloud technology simply refers to any storing or accessing of data through the internet but when the term is used in web hosting or in any other online service like a storage service for example, the term then implies that clients should not be concerned about the physical servers that run their tasks but simply about their tasks having sufficient resources. So it is the service provider job to make resources available as per clients demand. This means that client websites can scale without clients having to worry about moving their data from a server to an other as mentioned in Features Of Web Hosting.
